My favorite part about this strip is Sophia’s line about casting the second stone. I think too often we lash out to feel better, rather than working to bridge the chasm and work together.
Sophia’s last line is key, to me. If you honestly think your morals are slipping, it is time to reflect on what you’re doing, or consider redefining your morals.
Of course, if you’re debating this stuff in the moment, then you are not in ANY way objective.
You can take the girl out of her puritanical upbringing, but it’s a little more difficult prying he puritanical upbringing out of the girl.
I find that sometimes processing out loud can be taxing on the person waiting for you to get over it already (and I think that shoe has been on both feet for me).
Ha! At the time I was getting SOME freelance work, but my bills were still mostly paid for by temping. Good to see I finally caught up with her success level. :)
I have often been perplexed when I see/hear a drag-down fight, and then find out that it is simply how the two people process information with each other. I can never seem to imagine it’s healthy…. but who knows.
