This strip has some subtlety. Often a lead character in a novel (probably especially a first novel) is a thinly veiled duplicate of the author. The description of “she has a difficult time, but makes it through” somewhat reinforces this here. If you re-read the strip with Bruno knowing this, and Stanley being able to see this, it adds a tiny bit.
Ah but, if Angeline is a thinly veiled duplicate of Bruno, is Bruno a thinly veiled duplicate of you? … I hope so.
Thanks everyone! Lisa, when I say cold, here at the edge of the Chihuauan Desert, I mean our datiyme high was 55-ish (F) and it was windy. Yes, to us here, that’s quite cold for the day. Wind whipping through the desert is the worst too the big difficulty we had in fact.Alisia to her credit, was quite a tropper, insisting she wasn’t bothered by it at all. I also blame the altitude *sigh* I know, my Canadian friends always laugh at me. Wait until we get our snow (about one per year) . I’ll really be worked up about it then.
