Sometimes when crossing the midwest and/or southwest, things can begin to feel a little too much. Or so says my experience.

My husband is leaving today for a drive from Boston to Pheonix. We’ve done Boston to Orlando, but I hear traversing the midwest is a different experience.
I heard THAT. When I first moved to Austin, the first time I drove back home to visit my family in Georgia, I couldn’t stand that it took us more than six hours just to get OUT of Texas. And another six every time we drive down to see my fiancee’s family in Brownsville. And two and a half to get to any large city. And so on.
cheers,
Phil
The distance in miles may be about the same, but the trip from L.A. to Albuquerque is roughly one-third the distance from there to Little Rock in human misery.
I think perceived sameness (which is easy to “see” from a moving vehicle) usually breaks people’s brains, even shut-ins need variety. :)
