I ran the girl’s comment through a translator and it appears she is asking if the woman is a hedgehog? Poor Bruno.
Bruno, it doesn’t make you feel anxiety that you don’t understand her because you’re an adult and she’s, like, FOUR. She has no more power over you than she has over anything else in her life.
I was going to say that the worst thing the kid could do was call Bruno “silly” but I checked and French for “silly” is “stupide,” and no one’s going to shrug off being called “stupide” by anyone.
>snerk<
Yes, she does, ma petît chou. Elle est un hérisson en effet, comme vous le voyez.
Wait, I just got it. Saying “stupid” when you mean “silly” is one of the reasons the French are considered to be rude. Tsk tsk.
Who considers the French rude?
Stupide is definitely too strong here. I don’t think a four year old French kid would call her that, though an American one might.
But she might use slang. Nunuche translates as silly. Or perhaps she’s dingue (crazy, daft, nuts) or branque (irresponsible). She might also be un neuneu, a noun meaning a dork or a socially inept person.
Or perhaps she’s just un hérisson (a hedgehog) after all.
Poor Bruno.
