I had just visited a friend of mine when I wrote this strip, and she had been getting deeper and deeper into eastern religion/philosophy/thought. She kept talking about how she was working to simplify her life.
After that visit, I never heard from her again. My theory is that I was “simplified” out, but I’ll never know.
