Ah, nothing more lovely than Ophelia. I always loved how Shakespeare wrapped up her innocence, not understanding the politics and madness which brought her ruin which we all are watching. That Shakespeare new how to play his characters.
And jeezus, that guy is cut!
This strip was lots of fun to write. It is the perfect romantic moment, but Bruno, she’s just that kind of girl. :)
You know, I totally sympathize with this guy. But on the other hand, i totally sympathize with Bruno here. Which is probably why I’m the author, it’s just that kind of strip. :)
That’s one of the great traits of Susan, even though Bruno just walked out to do this deed right under Susan’s, nose, Susan is able to stand back and just see that Bruno is hurting.
Sometimes I find that when I’m sad I need to read something sad, or see a sad movie, or hear a sad song. Doing so makes me feel fuller and perhaps less alone (although I’m not so fond of seeing others sad when I’m this way, “misery loves company” isn’t really the same thing for me in this case). Something to happy or bland just makes me feel more alienated.
Although this is less the case than it once was. I now usually put on music or read a book which is empowering or energetic, to help me get out.
I’m not sure which is better, truer, or anything. Just what I do.
I often feel like this on bad days, just need a wee bit of cheer. I also want to say that at the time a friend of mine was ill or something and was cheered up by daisies, but it was so long ago I’ve forgotten.
When I wrote this, a friend of mine had just told me that she had been diagnosed with having a non-cancerous ovarian cyst. I wrote this strip to cheer her up.
It’s my birthday! I’m turning 5! So old!
Even back in 1996, Mikey had decent cell-phone etiquette. Gad, did I even KNOW anyone with a cell-phone back then?
Sometimes you have to laugh at the stupid shit you do, because being depressed and self-criticizing just takes too much out of you.
I simply like Randall. What can I say.
This strip was based on an experience I had when accidentally dunked underwater at the wrong time. Breathing in water was very peculiar and not something I have ever forgot.
